All Good Things Must Come to an End
As the title says, all good things must come to an end. This includes the Wilkes Barre Penguin's playoff run. As many of you may already know, the Albany River Rats swept the first round of the Calder Cup playoffs, eliminating the WBS Pens. The Pens being eliminated was hard on me (as you can tell by how late this post is) but I am finally ready for closure. It is time to say goodbye to the '09-'10 season. more »

Penguins vs. River Rats: AHL Playoffs Round 1
It is playoff time again! Time for playoff beards, whiteouts, blood, sweat, tears, lost voices, loud cheers, and most importantly, time for the WBS Pens to show that they have what it takes to fight for the Calder Cup! more »

The Stanley Cup Champions
What else can I possibly say in a post to properly demonstrate what our Penguins have accomplished. The odds were against us. The history was against us. The commentators were against us. In other words, outside of Pittsburgh, there were very few who thought this game seven would even occur aside from us winning it. The fact is that we did and we won. more »

Motivational Tribute
After a hard swim of concentration, I decided not to just write a motivational post, but to write a tribute to the accolades already in place from this season. This will be, regardless of the outcome, one of the best seasons in franchise history in terms of drama. I couldn't have written it any better. From 10th place in February and sliding to Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. From Stanley Cup Finals coach in 2008 to a different Stanley Cup Finals coach in 2009. From lineup changes to trade deadline geniosity (thanks for the word Shaina!). As fans, we can't ask for much more. more »

One Win for All the Marbles
I will tell you what. the score does not reflect the kind of game the Penguins played last night. The team played their best game by far, in my opinion. I am getting tired of all the doubters. I am getting tired of hearing how impossible it is for us to win this. I am tired of hearing of all the depth of the Detroit Redwings. I am tired of hearing that we can't win without Evgeni Malkin or Sidney Crosby scoring. I will tell you what, it is game seven and anything can happen. Look out Loretta! more »

Get Pumped!
Here are a couple things simply to get you properly pumped for tonight's game! If you watch even one of these videos, you will more than likely be able to get into the right frame of mind. It is time for us to take our place in history as the real team that wouldn't quit. If you are any kind of sports enthusiast and especially a Penguins fan for tonight, you can manipulate these to mean whatever you want. I don't know about you, but I am going to be watching these until gametime! more »

Statement Game
It is that time of year. It is time for a statement game. It is time for us to show them who should be winning the Stanley Cup. I get told left and right that we are toast. That we can't win the series. I disagree. The Redwings put up their best performance on Saturday, not because they were any better than usual, but because we handed the game to them. You will not get that again. I have a feeling that we are all going to be pleasantly surprised at the outcome of this game. I look forward to seeing how many people respond with negative comments after tonight. more »

Don't Doubt Us!
Right. That was a killer. We were beat. We didn't look like we have all season. I know, But it is over and it was just one game. It isn't like last year. We are better than this. We have better coaches and better players. If you sat at home tonight and thought for a second that we can't still do this, then shame on you! We can and will regroup. Don't doubt us. more »

Who Gets The Bounces Tonight?
We have all the ingredients that must be in a Stanley Cup Final to make it exciting. We have hitting, scoring, drama, the unexpected, and the best part, now a best of three. We also have the uncertainty of who will win this one. Last year at this time, we had all of us Penguin fans hoping for a series win, but doubting it based on previous game play. Now, we just don't know. We have hope, but these are very equal teams. Who will get the bounces tonight? more »

A Pair of Pairs
So, for the record, we lost the first two games in Detroit 3-1. We won both the games in Pittsburgh 4-2. Looks like the title is perfect. However, that is the only thing that is similar between the four games. The series is tied at two, which makes it a best of three. Two of these games will be in Detroit, that is, if there are three more games in this series. It could all end in Pittsburgh. I have some strong opinions of the series so far, but you will have to read on to hear them. more »

Fourth and Ten, Three Points Down
That's where we are. The game is on the line, what are we going to do? Do we kick the field goal to tie or go for the touchdown? I know, speaking football terms gets you confused in a Penguin post, but for some of you, that's what you need to get in the spirit of things. Tonight is a huge game that could change the face of the Penguins for years to come. Instead of the almost Pens, we would be the can do Pens. In other words, it is time for every fan in Steeler Nation to support the Pens tonight. It is time to come together and show what a city Pittsburgh is. more »

The Start of Something?
Is this it? Was Max Talbot the catalyst once again? Is that the start of history? We will surely find out. I am going to say one word. Momentum. It is vital to winning and losing in high pressure, extreme situation games. After two games back to back, where we never really had too much of it, but still somewhat dominated the games, we finally have it. We know we can outplay them, but until tonight, we couldn't beat them. more »
