Labor Day sports notes

Took my daughter to her first Steelers game Thursday night. She loved the festive, friendly atmosphere, but neither of us loved watching Byron Leftwich go down.

...

Which brings me to my next point: I don't know if there's really much difference between Byron and Charlie Batch. I'm leaning toward Batch as my hopeful starter but I could still be convinced otherwise. Dixon brings some other tools to the table. Tomlin has got to find a way to go 2-2. I think the first game is winnable against Atlanta; loss at Tenn.; win at Tampa and probably a loss to the Ravens at Heinz Field.

What's everyone up to this weekend? We're headed to the Rib Festival downtown today and the Rusted Root concert tomorrow night at Hartwood Acres. Get out their and support Pittsburgh and the region! We live in a beautiful city. I just moved back so I'm not taking it for granted.
