A Visit from Lord Stanley

On March 17th, Lord Stanley made his second visit to Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania since the Penguins became the Stanley Cup Champions in June. Lord Stanley must have enjoyed himself while he was here back in September because we were graced with his presence again! Find out about his latest visit to Wilkes Barre after the jump...

...

On March 17, 2010, the Wilkes Barre Penguins celebrated St. Patrick's Day during their game against the Norfolk Admirals. The luck of the Irish must have been with us, for we were told to expect a special visitor at the game. That visitor turned out to be the Stanley Cup!

Lord Stanley was on display before, during, and after the game that night for all of the fans to get a glimpse. Unfortunately it was surrounded by barricades so no one was able to get close enough to touch it. Even so, it was quite a sight to see! Lord Stanley has to be the most beautiful sports trophy I have ever seen. When it was on display outside the arena, the sun shone on the Cup, illuminating it, making it even more breathtakingly beautiful.

I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to see the Cup again. I think Lord Stanley likes visiting Wilkes Barre. So that means Pittsburgh needs to win the championship again this season so the Cup can come back us for another visit!
