So, here we are again, the offseason and another woman accusing Ben Roethlisberger of sexual assault. Is it believable? Sure. Anything can happen. Did it happen? I have no idea. I can only speculate, and speculate I will!

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman early Friday morning at a club in Georgia.

The Milledgeville (Ga.) Police told ESPN a woman reported having been sexually assaulted or sexually manipulated by a white male, 6-foot-5, 241 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes, but would not confirm that man was Roethlisberger.

Roethlisberger's agent in a statement confirmed the Steelers quarterback was questioned, but no charges have been filed.

"Last night, Ben and his friends met a group of women and everyone mingled together throughout the evening," said Ryan Tollner, Roethlisberger's agent. "We have spoken to law enforcement. Based on information currently available, an allegation was made against Ben, which appeared to be dismissed after a preliminary investigation last night. Obviously, given the prior accusation against Ben, we are skeptical of motive, but we will continue to cooperate with everyone involved."

A Steelers spokesman told ESPN: "We are gathering information on the report and we will have no other comment at this time."

Roethlisberger, who owns a home in nearby Lake Oconee, Ga., is facing a civil lawsuit from Andrea McNulty, who claims he raped her in 2008 in Lake Tahoe, Nev. Roethlisberger has denied those allegations and no criminal charges were filed in that case.

So, after I read this, I realize that if it isn't true, which, so far, it doesn't look likely, that the Steelers have a problem. She wouldn't even identify the person in question as him. I mean if he is continually innocent, then all the bad publicity is a tough thing to deal with. You can't get rid of a guy that is doing nothing wrong, right? You can't get rid of a guy who seems to keep getting into the wrong places at the wrong times, right? I don't know. I don't see the Steelers ever releasing him unless something comes up valid in court. I mean there aren't even charges files and TMZ is all over him.
This is the time of year to worry about the draft, so don't get caught up in all this hooplah. Concentrate on the positives and push aside the negatives. Why would someone throw away his career?
Don't worry fans, I am sure the Rooneys will see this through the right way and justice will prevail, but he is our franchise quarterback. What do we do? Its not cut and dry like Michael Vick and his dogs. It is "he said, she said". I guess we will just have to wait and see if anything is as it seems.

A 20-year-old college student has accused Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger of sexually assaulting her early today at a dance club in Georgia, police said.

Malone said investigators briefly spoke with Roethlisberger and that no charges have been filed. "We have been in touch with his attorneys and they are going to make available all the personnel to talk to us who were here last night."

Roethlisberger's agent, Ryan Tollner, acknowledged police have talked with Roethlisberger.

Daniel McDonald, a reporter for The Union Recorder in Milledgeville, said the woman told police she was assaulted at the Capital Club, a popular gathering spot for students. Milledgeville, about 100 miles southeast of Atlanta, is the home of Georgia College & State University.

Roethlisberger, 28, has a winter home in Reynolds Plantation, a resort community on Lake Oconee in Greensboro, Ga., about an hour north of Milledgeville.

"(Roethlisberger) has been identified as being at the scene. There are allegations naming him as the perpetrator. We will hear from his attorney as soon as he is able to confer with his client," Malone said.

Malone said that Roethlisberger and three friends had been with the woman and her friends earlier in the evening.

"What we have been able to determine is that they had all been together earlier that evening at other establishments as a group," he said.

Malone said he knows of no other Steelers present at the club.

Steelers spokesman Burt Lauten said: "We are gathering information on the report and we will have no other comment at this time."

Malone revealed no details of the alleged assault other than to say the woman told police it occurred at various places in the club between 2 and 2:30 a.m.

"Obviously, given the prior accusation against Ben, we are skeptical of a motive but will continue to cooperate with everyone involved," Tollner said.

In July, a Nevada casino worker filed a civil lawsuit against Roethlisberger claiming the two-time Super Bowl champion sexually assaulted her in 2008 while playing in a celebrity golf tournament at Harrah's Lake Tahoe Hotel and Casino.

Roethlisberger denied the woman's allegations. The lawsuit is unresolved.
