I am Legend

Follow up:
Ok, I may not be a legend, not yet anyhow, but I am working on it. I have to apologize for my recent hiatus, for I have relocated to Monterey, California for a bit to study a foreign language. The next statement will sound crazy to you.

I am currently within legit walking distance, well two miles, of the Pacific ocean. I wake up in the morning and can hear the seagulls and smell the ocean. I can see the bay from upstairs. We have seals and sea lions (there is a difference), otters, and whales. The temperatures range from 50-80 year round. We can go whale watching and scuba diving for a small fee and can see a world class aquarium in a short drive downtown.
After saying all of this, I sincerely miss my Pittsburgh. I miss the crazy fans and the city pride. I miss the food, and the atmosphere. I miss the company of all kinds of people that basically think alike, we all love the city and our teams. Since I have been in the Army, I have lived in or near several big name cities- Denver and Atlanta. I have also been to various cities in my work schedules and in traveling to my destinations for the service- Las Vegas, St. Louis, Raleigh, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Phoenix, Orlando and Tampa Bay. None of these cities have what we have in Pittsburgh.

When you decide it is time to move out of the city and into another, make sure you have to do it, not want to do it.
Ok, stepping back down off my box...

The mighty Penguins. For such a small animal with a history of being a weaker species, our Pens sure have proven otherwise. We may have dropped a few, but with so many injuries, it is to be expected. I don't want to sound like I am giving them an excuse, but come on, it is getting ridiculous. I figure we have to play at least .500 until the injury bug goes onto another team. It will happen. At least I keep telling myself that. You all saw what we are capable of when healthy. I think that every player in the league realizes this by now. They are simply praying that we are injured all season so they have a chance. I know it sounds cocky, but look how dominant we are in all aspects. Three straight and two shutouts in a row are nothing to bat your eyes at, but we are down three defenseman and three offenseman. If we figure out how to right this ship, and quick, without those key members, I really feel for other teams then. Until then, we need to just ride the wave.

On to the Steelers. Wow what a team. We are looking every bit as dominant as we did in the playoffs last year. I know it is a new year, new challenges and all that crap, but look at them. The two losses were not blowouts, they were by last minute mishaps. Two total plays are the difference between 6-2 and 8-0. I think all the power polls have it right in ranking us so far up there.
Ok, now I find this hilarious and I want everyone to let every Bengals fan know that I said this. The Bengals, in my opinion, have the worst fans in professional sports, aside from all the Philly teams. You don't hear anything from them and then BANG! they win a few games and turn some announcers heads, therefore they are Superbowl material? I don't think so. They have to complete a season first in order to be allowed to trash talk the way they do. They have had like what, three winning seasons, including this one? By winning, I mean that that have a chance. You also need to take into consideration their schedule. We were quoted to have had the 4th easiest schedule this year, theirs, the Ravens and the Browns all have easier schedules than ours. Think about it. 6-2 against nobody. They need to be reminded that next week they play the Champs. Period. We lost the first matchup, they didn't necessarily win it, if you know what I mean. We blew it and they were there to pick up the pieces. We will not let that happen Sunday. Mark my words.
Now, looking at the rest of the season, I like our odds. The only thing that bothers me is the fact that we will have no true challenges until the playoffs. I figure we will screw up and drop on or two, but no more than that. We need a big game against a team like Indy or the Pats to get up mentally prepared for the playoffs. I know I won't get my wish, but I hope this cake schedule doesn't hurt us more than help us. We will see though.
I would talk baseball, but honestly, I am upset about the World Series and the playoffs leading up to it. There was really no drama this year. The buy my team Yankees and the Phillies (which hails from the worst city in America) made the championship series. I actually had a hard time deciding who I wanted to lose more, and found myself hoping that Philly would win another! I couldn't believe it. I am looking forward to seeing what the Buccos do in the offseason and all of next year. That is where I stand there.
One final note, if you want to see anything on here or like to read what I write, let me know. It makes it a little bit more worthwhile when I know someone is reading my crap.
