Matt Rotheram picks Pitt

6'6", 310 Matt Rotheram of North Olmstead in North Olmstead, Ohio verbally committed to play football at the University of Pittsburgh today. This is the highest rated recruit so far for Pitt's 2010 class, with Rotheram being rated the #9 guard and a 4 star recruit by rivals.com.

Rotheram had offers from over 20 schools, including Michigan State, LSU,

...

Wisconsin, Purdue, Illinois, Indiana, Boston College, North Carolina State, Vanderbilt, Minnesota, Colorado State, and Cincinnati.

He visted Pitt last Tuesday and came away impressed. He stated that: "I'm really impressed with Pitt and I like them a lot. They've got a good combination of academics and being a great football school. They could be a championship contender and I think they're predicted to win the Big East this year. Plus it's really close to home and I could have a chance to play."

Today is Rotherham's 17th birthday. Good job, son.
