Deja Vu

Think about it. It could be taken two different ways. It could mean last years finals, where we went down two games to none. We eventually lost in six to these same Detroit Redwings. It could also be referring to the Conference Semifinals against the Washington Capitals this year, where we ended up ahead three games to two and eventually won the series in seven games. What do you think? I have my opinion, and I think I am right. more »

Tale of Two Teams

Just when you think the Pirates are building on something....Boom they hit you with a mediocre slap to the face. Here is hoping that is the only half of my prediction that does not hold true today. I felt after watching the game last night that the win… more »

One, Two....Someone's Comin For You!

Questionable moves like benching Freddy Sanchez in a series against the Cubs after he put together a tremendous hitters showcase has me wondering what is up management's sleeve. Will Freddy remain a Pirate or be traded to help build the youth movement t… more »

A Game of Bounces

Yes, this was a game of bounces. To be exact, three of them. All leading to Detroit goals. I believe that this game will prove to be the easiest for the Wings. They will see a whole new level of tenacity and drive in game two tomorrow night. I also don't see too many changes from our perspective. I like how we played. I don't like the back to backs, but it is out of our hands. I have confidence that the Pens will prevail. Don't worry. more »

The Drop of The Puck

Here We Go! We are all sitting around now, awaiting the unparalleled sound of the first dropping puck at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit. The sounds of the game are magical, as in all sports. I know when I played soccer for while in school, way back when, I just loved going to the field. I even loved practice. I would show up at least a half hour early. I love the smell, the sights, and the feel. I imagine that hockey players go through the same things, this time, for these two teams, it is a bit more intense feeling. more »

Just when you think it can't get any worse

Just when you think it can't get any worse...a 37 year old pitcher who hasn't thrown a complete game in nine years does so against our Buccos. Just when you think it can't get any worse..a rookie making his third career start goes 4 for 4 driving in fou… more »

The Perpetual Soapbox

I am not the type to complain too much about people on a public forum, but I feel it is my job to do so right now. I am not talking sports either, I am talking soapbox style. Step right to the top and will get everyone a chance to read and make up their own minds. Just so you know where I am coming from. I understand that people have their own opinions and that, but I feel as though a large number of the population are misinformed and unbelievable promises were shoved down their throats. more »

Crystal Ball look in the Pirates Draft

Yesterday, I emphasized on the importance of striking gold in the draft, the importance of selecting players that fit the system and end up being diamonds in the rough. I know you are asking yourself, what makes this Pirates draft any different than the… more »

I Just Want To Thank You, Marian

Of all the possible Stanley Cup scenarios you could have imagined at the beginning of this hockey season, we, as Penguin fans, wanted another try at beating the Wings. We really didn't think it would happen though, simply because odds were not in our favor. A rematch hasn't happened since 1984. That is almost as long as I have been alive, believe it or not. It happened, though, and the stars came into alignment and we got just what we wanted. We got our second crack at the Wings. We have one guy to thank for all this, Marian Hossa. more »

A Tribute To Cleveland

y wife was fishing around on the internet and found the funniest videos ever. I will warn you, if you are a Cleveland fan, somehow, and are reading this, you may get offended! I am not a Cleveland fan, by any stretch of the imagination (even though I rooted for the Cavs), so that is why I just have to post this! more »
