It's nice to be able to call tonight very slow in the life of the Pittsburgh Penguins. 3 days removed from their last game and still 48 hours away from their next, the Pens are getting some much needed rest. Practice took place today, but as has been the case all year, many of the guys were taking "maintenance days." Time to rest and heal up from bumps, sores and bruises is crucial right now. It also gives us time to talk about and explore different areas of the pens organization and take a deeper look into some of our players. I'd like to take the next few minutes to talk about the guy I think is under-appreciated the most on the penguins roster, Brooks Orpik.

If you were to check the Penguins website today, you'd read the same thing you have for about 10 straight months. Sidney Crosby has been ruled out of the west coast road trip that sees the Penguins take on the L.A. Kings and San Jose Sharks. Two games against two tough opponents who, along with the pens, have been talked about as Stanley Cup contenders. As boring as that news may be, it may be the last time we hear that, at least regarding his most current injury. Add a comment Last Updated (Monday, 31 October 2011 13:37)
Looking at the last few weeks of the regular season and how everything worked out and the odds that Sidney Crosby coming back before the series is over, I am going to give you my pick for this series and why. I know if you are anything like me, you love reading anything you can get your hands on about the match up. You probably want some concrete evidence why the Pens will win or lose this series. I will give you, hopefully, what you are looking for. Add a commentLast Updated (Wednesday, 13 April 2011 13:02)

Osama bin Laden is dead. When I heard the news, I really didn't know what to say. I was ecstatic. I was deployed twice, once in support of Operation Enduring Freedom that turned to Operation Iraqi Freedom and the second solely in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. I know there is a lot of people out there that think that he should have been captured and brought to trial or that he needed exposed for the truly non-muslim mentality he possessed, but I am a happy soldier that he is dead. I am a big advocate for promoting Pittsburgh music. I just haven't had anyone ask me until now to put anything up. I am willing to give any group or individual some kind of recognition so that they can get their career rolling. I am not, unfortunately, any kind of musical force, but sometimes it is better than nothing. I would like to eventually have a steady, writing, touring, Pittsburgh band to join the crew, but we will see. Add a commentLast Updated (Wednesday, 13 April 2011 20:00)
